Glass breaking myth

This video is really cool.. These team of people who call themselves myth-busters ( haha.. i dunno why I find the name extremely comical! reminds me of the cartoon ghost busters! ) anyway basically the do experiments to see if myths can be cracked and see if they can explain it scientifically. This one on opera singers breaking wine glasses was particularly a nice one.

All these make me fret why hadnt I majored in physics. =/ its alright, life science is equally good.. or lets just think of it as so. Spider silk is going to be fun! *Fingers crossed* =)

Other than that, nothing much happening this weekend.. on webcast watching spree.. 3 more lec to go on physics.. and loads Hindi vocab to practise on. Tommrow is the dressing up day! The must do annual huge hit activity, HS photoshoot =P

Mannequin

We complicate our lives. When I heard this first, I thought it was a mere mocking comment but, indeed its true. Maybe its a frail attempt of us refraining ourself from the embarrassments or we are just trying to fit in. Everyone is doing it so why not me. But, it can be much much MUCH simpler. To us to realize and put this in practise could be a never though.

My mind is twisted and moline but your are so calm and divine, a lifeless mannequin we play.

A lifeless mannequin
stays in its place
be good and don't think
mannequin

Restricted by a belt
colored inside the lines
be ignorant and clueless
mannequin

Get pins poked through
but keep up the work
don't hurt, don't cry
mannequin

Test what we won't
try what we refuse
listen, be forced
mannequin

Sit on display
You belong to us now
Be good and don't think
Mannequin

I realize I blog more when I am stressed.. loads of assignments due and strings of CAs coming up!

We have overstretched our personal boundaries and forgotten that true happiness comes from living an authentic life fueled with a sense of purpose and balance."

Kids explain GRANDPARENTS, WHO ARE THEY?

- Grandparents are a lady and a man who have no little children of their own. They like other people's.

- A grandfather is a man grandmother.

- Grandparents don't have to do anything except be there when we come to see them. They are so old they shouldn't play hard or run. It is good if they drive us to the store and have lots of quarters for us.

- When they take us for walks, they slow down past things like pretty leaves and caterpillars.

- They show us and talk to us about the color of the flowers and also why we shouldn't step on "cracks."

- They don't say, "Hurry up."

- Usually grandmothers are fat, but not too fat to tie your shoes.

- They wear glasses and funny underwear.

- They can take their teeth and gums out.

- Grandparents don't have to be smart.

- They have to answer questions like "why isn't God married?" and "How come dogs chase cats?"

- When they read to us, they don't skip. They don't mind if we ask for the same story over again.

- Everybody should try to have a grandmother, especially if you don't have television, because they are the only grown ups who like to spend time with us.

- They know we should have snack-time before bedtime and they say prayers with us every time, and kiss us even when we've acted bad.

- A 6 year old was asked where his grandma lived.
''Oh,'' he said, ''She lives at the airport, and when we want her we just go get her. Then when we're done having her visit, we take her back to the airport."

Taking people for granted

Taking people for granted. Is it something completely inevitable? Are we that blind and ignorant to overlook certain things people do out of care and concern? What we see as tiny twiny unimportant and "ah-I-cant-be-bothered" things may matter a LOT for some people. This is not about making mountains out of mole hills. Its respecting and appreciating gestures. Genuine at heart they may be but that does not mean they wouldn't have any expectations. For, who lives without expectations? Though we all know pretty well that expectation, when not met leaves you with pain, we cant run away from it. Addiction it has become. We are no saints!

Why am I grouching and whining about all this now? Last week many things happened and one of it made me feel as though I was taken for granted. As much as I felt angry and betrayed, it made me think. I have to accept the bitter truth of how much I have been neglecting this one other person which leaves me feeling ashamed, heartless and tainted with guilt. I which I had a backspace key with me so that I can go back, erase off and rewrite a few parts of my life, especially the ones where I should have treated you better. I am sorry.. Extremely.

We care about people who don't care, and don't care about people who care! How true!

Dedicated to daddy! =)

One thing I sulked about during SAM days were to write reflective papers and song analysis. But there was this particular song which was just tooooooo good, Butterfly kisses by Bob Carlisle . Maybe cause I could relate very much to it.. Man they should have made this the background score for abhiyum naanum! it would blend in perfectly!

There's two things I know for sure:
She was sent here from heaven and she's
daddy's little girl.
As I drop to my knees by her bed at night
She talks to Jesus and I close my eyes and
I thank god for all the joy in my life
Oh, but most of all
For butterfly kisses after bedtime prayer;
sticking little white flowers all up in her
hair; "Walk beside the pony, Daddy, it's my first ride."
"I know the cake looks funny, Daddy, but I sure tried."
In all that I've done wrong I know I must
have done something right to deserve a hug
every morning and butterfly kisses at night.

Sweet 16 today
She's looking like her mama a little more everyday
One part woman, the other part girl.
To perfume and make-up from ribbons and curls
Trying her wings out in a great big world.

But I remember
Butterfly kisses after bedtime prayer; sticking
little white flowers all up in her hair.
"You know how much I love you, Daddy, But if you
don't mind I'm only gonna kiss you on the cheek this time."
With all that I've done wrong I must have done
something right to deserve her love every morning
and butterfly kisses at night.

All the precious time
Like the wind, the years go by.
Precious butterfly.
Spread your wings and fly.

She'll change her name today.
She'll make a promise and I'll give her away.
Standing in the bride-room just staring at her.
She asked me what I'm thinking and I said "I'm not
sure-I just feel like I'm losing my baby girl."
She leaned over...gave me butterfly kisses with her mama there,
Sticking little white flowers all up in her hair
"Walk my down the aisle, Daddy-it's just about time."
"Does my wedding gown look pretty, Daddy? Daddy, don't cry!"

Oh, with all that I've done wrong I must have
done something right.
To deserve your love every morning and butterfly
kisses-I couldn't ask God for more, man this is what love is.

I know I gotta let her go, but I'll always remember
every hug in the morning and butterfly kisses.
