Bright petals everywhere =)

I love it when I manage to make you laugh
I love it when my kerchief is so neatly ironed

I love how my lunch is packed in tiny little boxes

I love the fact that my petrol tank refills itself over the weekend

I love my clothes which smells like garden blossom
I love how you tuck my into my bed
I love how you sit by my bed and entertain my "5 mins more sleep" issues

I love your warm look which feels like a bottle of hope gushed down the throat

I love how you put ME before everything else

I love how you cheer me up and fill my cup

I love how you show me to serve, to accomplish, to persevere

You are my cushion when I fall

Your inexhaustible love, Amma and Nanna

And I thank you for all of it.

Man-Madhan-Ambu-fied

Disclaimer: This is not a review, just a biased babble of what I liked and what I disliked about the movie.

First on the laikeys :

1. Kamalhassan- how does this guy do it NOBODY knows. Though just for mere seconds, he braught the same unnaipol oruvan's flashback effect through his down-with-cancer friend.
He looked AH-MAZING in white. Not exaggerating, I couldnt take my eyes of the poster. For his age, he still looks stunning undoubtedly. And the number of different things he wants to do and try in every movie of his is worth an applaud. poetic legend he is. period.

2. Funny, one would probably expect the hero/heroine here.. but na-ah. Sangeetha. Apart from the fact that I have immense respect for her dance competition judging skills (thanks to SK for openly lauding it on AIE), her boisterous attitude in this movie has to be given credit. It just blended in so well. Good choice, great performance.

3.Madhavan. Oh what do I say about him. Superb to the power of infinity. On a totally different note, I am soooooooo glad he disagreed to take up the tamil 3 idiots version.

4. Surya jillu appearance

Now for the no-laikeys cum indifference:

5.Surya bringing Diya and Jo up (yes even here -.- )

6. No comments on the heroine. I was/am/will be never a big fan of trisha. Any barbie-doll face would have done the trick. I applaud the idea of going all-manirathnam and making her use her own voice.. Yea yea we admit her tamil isnt bad but frankly, she has a spooky voice. The poem recital says it all.

7. URVASI. I am thoroughly dissapointed. How could ks ravikumar do this???? when we see her on screen our mind goes on auto-switch to chirpy, bubbly, ridiculously funny mode. Oh for the love of god, why do u need urvasi to play a crying wife role???? I mean, for an actress of her caliber and credentials, they ought to have considered her for some other role and put her to better use! *hmmmps or that*

8. Crazy mohan's dialogue was the missing ingredient. It was the ummph factor of most of kamal's comedy hits.

9. I should have followed the advice of a very wise friend and watched it in India. Sitting in a malaysian theater and being the only one laughing hysterically for the "kalla kadhalan=kavi shirt" joke was a bit awkward =/

If I were to recast, I would choose Jayaram and Urvasi to play Mr.and Mrs.Kurup. And the taxi driver as Yugi Sethu! =) Oh but it was nice to see glimpses of the panchathanthiram cast here and there =)

You know maybe it was a good movie but having seen great movies like panchathanthiram and PKS which lifted the expections way up high. So, I give it a "good but not great".

p/s:Madrasapattinam will still top my list in 2010.

Lord Chubby Pruneface

Its not that I am not talented, its just that people around me are fantabulously talented. I was chatting with this friend of mine who was very specific that his name is not mentioned so he shall be called Lord Chubby Pruneface. So our hero is a super romantic ( bf cum bff for his gf ) spun a song out of random word.. added a tune to it in less than 10mins. The lyrics might not be fab but still, 10mins is pretty good a gangaiamaran style =) Here goes..
makathai pinni eduthu koonthal seithayo.. minnaleai koorthu kangal seithayo.. eyarkai alagaiyae unnil kondayo en valkai vannil natchathiramai vanthayo.. pinvarai enrupayo, bimbamai marai vaayo un orae paarvai poothumae, un oorae ponakai poothumae.. un orae sol koodae poothumae.. aanal pena, unnodu vala oru jenmam poothathey devathaiya, unnai paarkatha naanum oru devdasthan pookalai paarthan pidikavilai, vellai purakalaiyum pidikavilai unnai paarthru viden, ipothu en mannathaiyeh ennaal pidika modiyavelai vaarthaikal varavilai unnai kandathum, moochu kaartu sadru sikiyathu unnai paarthathum.. en uyire ennai pirinthathu un orae asaivil apoothu vanthu serumo, athu varai unnedathil ulathu en nelai kavithai ellutha naan kambanum aller, algae unnai padatha bhramanum naan ellai.. pithan endru kooda solla en manam ennedam illaiannal pena, un valikai thunai endru sollae koodiya varam midum kodupaya?

If only someone can tell me how to.

'Twas a good fight

I am seriously considering erecting a statue for Suresh Raina next to the Petronas Twin Towers. 4 wickets in 2 overs! What a match it was.. yes they lost but it was ahmazing and personally I felt it was a deserving win for the Victorian Bushrangers. By far, this probably was the most interesting T20 match i've seen. CSK signed off with a stunning 162 which looked little coz of the expectation they had set in previous matches. And then came the Bushrangers (thanks to Finch and Hussey) roaring them to a good score. Vijay was good but wasted to many overs. I felt Bolliger was not fully in form yest. Actually the whole team's fieling was not as firey as it always is. Muralitharan missing a catch, that definately doesnt happen often. I could keep watching the last four overs time and again. It was such nail-biting moments. 2 overs 12 runs needed for the VBs to win. Hell the 4s and the 2s were so irritating at that point. Then came the saviour angel Suresh Raina (great strategy by MS dhoni).. 1 over and 3 wickets down.. it was like celebration! haha.. almost! but they tied, yes 162 exactly so they had to bring the super over. This is the most brutal and cruel part of a cricket match. 6 balls for each team and they see how much they score. I am sure many fans just like me would have strongly violently openly objected dhoni bringing in ashwin to bowl this over. Their strongest man in Bollinger. Either him or Muttaiah would have been splendid. If he so wanted to take a chance, Raina should have been the pick. But alas, the 3 sixes at the superover takes the Bushrangers high up in the team standings. It ok the lions would roar again in the next match! love u guys :)

one day match in s'pre =)

As I type, I can barely keep my eyes open but it all seems worth it, every bit of it... yes it is tiring tedious exhausting but putting a smile on a person's face is undoubtedlty the bestest most satisfying thing to do =)

There will always be a few people who'll make me feel absolutely comfortable even when I am swimming under my "stars and moon" pyjamas in a ballroom filled with gentlemen in their best suits and ladies with their poise and elegent dresses *bear hugs*

On my way back, I was watching some random movie on the bus (hail the first coach officials who have added 200 new movies to the catalogue..love u guys like totally ;)) and this song is stuck in my head since. the lyrics the orchestration everything is so soothing and comforting..
