Stereotying the shallow

Shallow, probably one of the very few words which survived through this generation's limited vocabs circling around the b* and f* . But, shallow alone is used a little too extensively in all the wrong contexts. So here is what I think what the word means, in this era.

Shallow is NOT when you have frequent status updates
Shallow is when you have pointless ones like "I bought a pencil" and expect a million likes from your followers

Shallow is NOT when you have nothing to say in a conversation
Shallow is when you state the obvious and wants it to be acknowledged as the smartest thing in the world

Shallow is NOT doing crazy extremely pointless things with your friends
Shallow is making a big deal about it and expect a paparazzi for it.

Shallow is NOT when you talk about small things and people
Shallow is when you don't pay attention to them and their emotions

Lastly,
Shallow is NOT when you have only one thing ticked off your to-do list.
Shallow is when you run through everything with jet speed and not do it sincerely.

OR you just called procrastination and being lazy. Back to work!

Barfi Review

I dont know much about technicalities behind movie making, but I write what I feel and think so, please no taking umbrage.

SPOILER ALERT!

So yes I finally watched the much talked about Barfi a few weeks back. I would say, it is a very sincere attempt in portraying a dumb and mute guy falling in love with an ultra gorgeous girl who equally loves him but is too conscious of people family and relationships around her. BUT.. must say, it took me a while to recognise Illeana.. OMG, hats off to the make up artist!

He then finds autistic girl who belongs to an affluent family but her family barely cares for her sensitive needs. Then comes our hero to the rescue! They elope to Kolkata (I think, if I remember correct)

I dint get one thing throughout the movie, regardless how much I try, I dont see how the name Murphy transforms in barfi. but the latter is of course much cuter!

Positives
- PRIYANKA & RANBIR's acting.. I always had a very biassed perspective that both are half baked.. but must say, good job!
 -Pretty dollface Illeana
- The perfect 70-s setting and the trains!!!

Negatives
- music could have been better.. I dint find myself humming any songs as an aftermath.
- Illeana was a refreshing change but the style seemed very vidya balan-ish.
- I felt like the movie was never ending. Maybe coz I watched it over the span of two days or maybe the plot which kept changing from present to flashback in darjeeling to present to flashback in kolkata and then meet ex-lover.. I swear at one point of it, I felt like this was a series!

SO?
Good watch but not sure if it worth the oscar nomination. I think we have better movies to send from India. Ask mr.kamalhassan.
